Creepy figure spotted on Google Maps lurking inside deserted Chernobyl building

A ghostly figure spotted on Google Maps lurking inside a deserted building in Chernobyl has freaked out the internet.

TikTok user @hidden.on.google.earth shared the creepy discovery just four days ago and his video has already been seen more than 145,000 times.

The clip shows him zooming in on an old post office in Pripyat, Ukraine.

Following the Chernobyl disaster in 1986, the building was quickly abandoned leaving all that was left to slowly rot away.

In the video, postcards and letters can be seen littering the floor while a bizarre colorful mural remains intact on the wall.

But there appears to be one thing out of place in the room.

As the camera pans around, an eerie figure can be seen perching on the windowsill pointing directly at the camera.

It is impossible to see its face as a long white cloak covers it.

Thousands of viewers have flocked to the comments section to share their terror at the sight.

“If you watch it will come out the TVs,” one remarked.

Another said: “It is a faceless ghost.”

  • A third commented they were “terrified”. Others suggested it may simply have been a small statue but that still not convince some paranormal believers.

“I thought it was a statue at first but it sure looks like a disheveled man pointing at the camera,” they said.

Spotting “ghosts” on Google Maps is nothing new.

Back in 2019, the internet was sent into meltdown after what looked like a demonic figure was found lurking under a bridge.

And in the same year, a “ghost with red eyes” was discovered staring at a Google Maps Street View car.

There was also the time when a Google Maps user discovered what he thought was a ghost inside the Paris Catacombs.

With the remains of more than 6 million people lying in the cemetery, situated underneath the French city, many viewers suggested it could be something paranormal.

But others weren't as convinced, instead suggesting it was simply a "trick of the light".

“That looks like an apparition to me, but it could be a trick of the light,” one commented.
