Cutting edge AI shows UK cities in the year 2050 – and it’s gone Blade Runner

  • With the rapid pace of development and change in technology, British cities are expected to change massively over the next few decades according to an AI.

While we know that cities in the UK will be changing, no one knows for sure how exactly they will change.

The Daily Star tasked bleeding edge generative AI Midjourney to answer the question: “What will Britain’s cities look like in 2050?”.

The AI is able to generate high quality pictures seemingly out of thin air with only a short prompt to help it get started.

Despite the fact we currently struggle to fill potholes, the AI thinks it will dramatically transform in the future to something very Cyberpunk or Blade Runner inspired.

Midjourney has been in service since July 2022, and since then has been credited with some of the world’s most mind-blowing image generations.

The service, which released its latest version just a few days ago, is not without controversy, however.

In March, Midjourney’s CEO David Holz said the AI would not generate any pictures of China’s lifetime leader Xi Jinping in order to avoid the risk of being censored by the Chinese government.

But what do you think of the potential cities of the future?
