Eerie hazmat-wearing Russians found on Google Maps in ‘weirdest f***ing’ find

A TikTok user exploring the world on Google Maps accidentally stumbled on an ominous collection of eerie hazmat suit wearers in the middle of the Russian wilderness.

Posting to the social media app, the now-viral clip explored the snowy mountains of Russia in what user i_am_g__ described as the "weirdest f***ing thing on the internet".

The user said they were comparing the size of Russia to Ukraine when they decided to "pop a pin" down on the map to explore the mountains of Russia to "see what they're like".

An unexpected find soon turned eerie, as the TikTok user stumbled on a collection of chilling Google StreetView images.

Their first pin drop on the map was relatively peaceful, showing off the Russian landscape and mountains in the Putorana State Natural Reserve which the user described as "very pretty".

Another pin drop on Google Maps was much less pretty and far more ominous, with the TikTok user dropping into a seemingly isolated, snowy landscape with a collection of buildings and eerie hazmat suit wearers.

After deciding to "go for a little walk," the user found a series of seemingly derelict buildings and a group of four people in differently coloured hazmat suits.

When heading to the middle of a courtyard, the startled social media user swivelled the camera around to reveal four different hazmat suit wearers, all in different colours and walking in opposite directions.

Commenters on the viral TikTok were not so easily fooled by the eeriness of the area, pointing out that the hazmat suits were the same colour as the Google logo.

One user commented "Google colours? Google staff" while another asked "Wouldn't it just be the people controlling the Google maps camera?"

Another user pointed out that the eeriness could be because "Northern Russia doesn't get much or any day light during the winter, and that just how Russia built its building in the Soviet Era".
