Elvis Presley’s ex-lover claims The King “contacted her” from beyond the grave.

Linda Thompson, 71, reckons the rock and roll legend sent her signals by turning the power off in buildings.

She said there was a blackout only in her apartment while the rest of the block was unaffected as she prepared for his funeral, and again on an anniversary of his death.

Linda said: “I always said if anybody could come back and give a sign, it would be Elvis and not Houdini.”

She said she had to light candles as she packed for her flight from Los Angeles to Memphis for his burial at his Graceland estate. The songwriter and actress met Elvis when she was 22, inset, after being crowned Miss Tennessee in July 1972.

They were together for more than four years until Linda decided she couldn’t cope with his lifestyle.

Elvis was hooked on prescription drugs, which led to his death on August 15, 1977, aged just 42. Linda said the other spooky super-natural sign came from the singer exactly eight years after he died, when the power went out at the Comedy Store in LA while she was there.

The other buildings on Sunset Boulevard were not affected and the show had to go ahead by candlelight.

At the same time, a candlelit memorial service was underway at Graceland.

Linda, who later married the then Bruce Jenner, added: “Several things like that have happened. Maybe it’s coincidence and maybe it’s not.”
