Ghost hunters claim they’ve captured eerie figure in photo of ‘doomed’ building

A group of ghost hunters have claimed they captured an eerie figure in the window of a haunted building after they went to investigate the site after rumoured sightings of a ghost.

Investigator group Paranormal Supernatural Investigations Ireland visited the Moore Hall site in Carnacon after hearing stories about strange sounds in the area.

The spooky property, which is located near a busy park, once belonged to famous Irish writer George Moore and was also the ancestral home to President of the Republic of Connacht John Moore, the Mirror reports.

During the Irish Civil War, the house was burned to the ground and was never restored despite its prestigious background.

But it was reported that the famous writer was warned that the area was doomed and that the King of Connaught, Drithliu, was killed near here in 400 AD.

It is believed that the Moores and Drithliu continue to terrorise anyone who defies their wishes by stepping near the sacred house at night.

The ghost-busting group decided to visit the forbidden property on the evening of Saturday, September 18 while there was a partially full moon.

They described the evening as "perfectly still [and] calm".

PSI wrote on Facebook: "When we arrive at every location we take pictures instantly as we believe whatever energy is there will either decide to stay or leave."

In the corner of a window, the investigators snapped what looks like an eerie figure apparently looking at them.

The group added: "Overall the investigation started to get very stagnated as the night went on, but we felt at the beginning we were getting a lot of activity.

"We are not even nearly done with Moore Hall yet guys, lots more to come really soon."

Many people commented on the Facebook post, with one writing: "I love this place. It’s my childhood haunt. A good few nights we hiked in there in pitch dark & ended up terrified. That said, it’s a beautiful place with a mighty history. I would say if there are spirits there, they’re benevolent."

Another added: "This is amazing! I love all things like this!! Great pic guys!"

One more commented: "Was in that house one night years ago… needless to say we were a lot quicker coming out than going in."
