An apparent "ghost" has been spotted on Google Maps by an eagle-eyed user.

The strange shape was caused by a shadow in front of a six-storey block of flats in Cairo, Egypt.

A social media user claimed it looked like a muscular ghost which was “shredded”.

He tweeted: “Found a f****** GHOST on google earth, he shredded af tho.”

The unusual figure was spotted on a sunny residential street near Cairo International Airport.

The online search tool has developed a reputation for spotting creepy and unusual sights around the world.

Google Maps users were shocked after they recently discovered a ghostly figure inside a deserted building in Chernobyl.

It was found inside a post office in Pripyat, Ukraine, which was abandoned after the 1986 disaster caused by a nuclear accident.

Online sleuths claimed it was a “faceless ghost”, although some claimed it was simply a statue.

One wrote: “I thought it was a statue at first but it sure looks like a dishevelled man pointing at the camera.”

Another odd scene recently emerged in the Mexican city of Apodaca.

It showed a pair of hands and legs accompanied by a dog, seemingly detached from the rest of the body.

One Reddit user suggested it could be Thing from the Addams Family, the character which is just a hand.

What looked like a demonic figure was also found lurking underneath a bridge in Ithaca in New York, US back in 2019.

A YouTuber claimed it was a “demonic face”, although others argued it was an abandoned mask.

While in 2018 one Google user found what appeared to be a blue figure hovering above the ground in Seattle, US.

He tweeted: “Found this on Google Earth. You’ll see what appears to be a ghost.”
