A video alleged to show Bigfoot stomping around in the wilderness has left viewers admitting they would soil themselves if they came face-to-face with the creature.
In the clip, filmed in Georgia, US, a figure like the notorious beast – who has never conclusively been proven to exist – is squatting in the undergrowth in a dense forest.
The ape-like creature then stands up and seems to tower impressively high, although it is difficult to gauge the perspective.
Although some people reckon it was a prankster in a suit, there are others who think the footage could be legitimate and another clue in the Sasquatch mystery.
The video was shared on Instagram by the account @cryptiduniversity which regularly uploads clips of mysterious creatures.
One viewer said: "Best footage I've seen in a while I understand the shakiness I would've been pooing in my pants woooooow that thing was huge."
"Does a Sasquatch s*** in the woods?" commented someone else, perhaps noting the creature's squat.
A more sceptical-sounding viewer said: "They do all sorts of things for attention down in Georgia."
Seth Breedslove, a documentary maker and the man behind Small Town Monsters film production company, told Daily Star the video might be a hoax but there was room for doubt.
He said: "The subject seems to be very large but the movement possibly gives away the potential for some trickery.
"The subject seems to be looking down at the ground as it turns indicating it might be a person in a suit who is having some difficulty judging the forest floor beneath them.
"It makes me think this is more than likely a hoax."
The filmmaker, whose latest documentary On The Trail of Bigfoot is now available on Amazon, added: "The thing does appear to be large though, so maybe it’s real? These videos always leave us with more questions than answers."
Legends of Bigfoot in the US gained momentum in 1958 when loggers found a giant footprint in Bluff Creek, California, and it became a national news story.
Conspiracy theorists think there might be other hidden creatures, known as "cryptids", lurking in the wilds, and among these legends are "dogman", "mothman", the "yeti", and even "Nessie" the Loch Ness Monster.
