Secret camera footage has caught a bloke urinating on his ex-wife's grave, 48 years on from their divorce.

Linda Louise Torello passed away from cancer in 2017 aged 66. She is buried at a cemetery at Tappan Reformed Church in Orangetown, New York.

Her son Michael Murphy, 43, explained on Facebook that a man has been coming to her grave almost every day, "leaving bags of poo and p***ing on my mothers tombstone".

Michael uploaded shocking footage of the bizarre daily ritual to Facebook. In it, a man can be seen getting out of an SUV, walking over to the grave, pulling down his trousers and urinating.

Michael wrote alongside the video: "THIS IS BREAKING MY HEART.

"A man from Bergen county New Jersey has been leaving bags of poo and p***ing on my mothers tombstone almost every morning like a 'normal routine' assisted by his wife also.

"We have weeks and months of evidence. It has been reported to the police and the news outlets. No one in my family has had contact with him since 1976 or so.

"How he found my mothers grave site we are not sure. But this stems back to a problem almost 50 years ago. Pray for us thank you and please share this!!!"

The ordeal started with Michael finding a bag containing faeces at the grave. He assumed it had perhaps been left there by mistake by a dog walker, but then found another when he visited again.

Police were called and the manager of the cemetery gave the children permission to set up a hidden camera.

They were shocked to see a man who had briefly been married to their mother during the 1970s arriving at dawn, with his current wife often waiting in the car.

The children told the Daily Voice that their mum and the man had fallen out after she became pregnant and he didn't want responsibility for the child.

"I can't get my wife to go out to dinner but this guy gets his wife to go along with him to desecrate my mom's remains every morning," Michael said in a video on Facebook.

The video Michael shared was recorded on his phone last Sunday (September 18), although the children say they have evidence of the man doing the same four days in a row last week.

Police told Michael there isn't much they can do because there were no specific threats of physical violence. He is currently trying to get a complaint before a judge.

Cemetery desecration is a crime in New York State if it causes damages in excess of $250 (£230).

Michael told the Daily Voice that he has met the threshold for damages after "paying a hazmat company to remove all her decorations that are soaked in urine and have the headstone properly cleaned and some of grass ripped up and replaced, plus the permits to let these companies enter the cemetery".
