Pilots’ most convincing UFO encounter tales after public hearing bombshells

A bombshell hearing this week added weight to theories that aliens exist as US officials blew the lid off encounters with UFOs.

The Pentagon revealed there had been 400 UFO sightings recorded when quizzed by US Congress.

During the public hearing, the first of its kind in 50 years, two senior defence officials, Ronald Moultrie and Scott Bray, talked through several encounters with "unidentified aerial phenomena" – aka flying saucers.

Last year, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence outlined progress made by its Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force in a preliminary report to Congress.

The hearing also came five months after a "National Defense Authorization Act" required the US military to establish a permanent office that would gather and look into UAPs.

That Act also stated there should be an annual report and semi-annual briefings for Congress on UAPs.

But can UAPs or UFOs really be out there? Some pilots' accounts of encounters with flying saucers would certainly suggest so.

In September, the Daily Star Sunday broke the exclusive story that pilots claimed to have seen hundreds of potential UFOs, but feared reporting them could cost their jobs.

The commercial and military aviators claimed any crew member who speaks out is risking their career.

One pilot said airline bosses are so hostile to ET claims that a colleague was told to get counselling after reporting a UFO.

Another told the Daily Star Sunday: "When someone says UFO everyone thinks they are referring to aliens but that is not always the case, especially with the surge in drone activity.

"Most pilots will use phrases like unidentified traffic or aerial phenomena. No one wants to say UFO.

"If you say UFO people think you are either drunk, on drugs or nuts."

Their fears emerged on an online forum for pilots.

One member said: "Many airline pilots, self included, and military pilots have had encounters at altitude with UFOs over many decades and before the internet.

"Encounters are reported internally and amongst colleagues and seldom reach the media.

"When you are fortunate to be a close witness, it is really quite serious stuff.

"There are advantages in having an office window at 37,000ft."

Another said that he first saw a UFO 30 years ago when he was flying a cargo jet from Singapore to Brisbane.

He said: "It was 2am local time and my co-pilot asked air traffic control, 'Do you have traffic in our vicinity?' Negative was the response.

"Not long after, we saw something we, shall we say, shouldn’t have seen. No, we didn’t query air traffic control."

Seven months prior to this story breaking an American Airlines pilot was recorded saying he saw something moving in a cloud.

American Airlines and the FBI confirmed reports that flight AA 2292, which was travelling between Cincinnati and Phoenix on February 21, 2021 had a near-miss with an unidentified flying object shortly before twenty past one, local time.

The pilot asked: "Do you have any targets up here?

"We just had something go over the top of us that, I hate to say this, but it looked like a long cylindrical object that almost looked like a cruise missile type of thing moving really fast right over the top of us."

While American Airlines initially played down the report, a company spokesperson confirmed the incident in a statement that said: "Following a debrief with our Flight Crew and additional information received we can confirm this radio transmission was from American Airlines Flight 2292 on Feb. 21.”

The Federal Aviation Administration added in their statement that air traffic controllers "did not see any object in the area on their radarscopes."

But the sighting quickly became of the most significant UFO sightings of 2021 as it was one of several triggers that saw experts push for more transparency from the US government about investigations into alien life.

Then more recently in January of this year a pilot's video, taken from the cockpit of their aircraft, captured a UFO "transforming" mid-air.

The clip. which was recorded somewhere over Texas, US, at 37,000ft, has since sparked discussions among conspiracy theorists.

Reddit user "OffshoreAttorney" said he received the footage from his best friend, who works as a pilot for JetBlue Airlines, and posted it on the UFO community.

The 30-second footage shows the panoramic view of bright blue sky and thick layers of clouds rolling in the background.

A white spot appears on the horizon for a few seconds and slowly turns translucent before it disappears behind the clouds.

The pilot noted: "Over Texas, 4:20 PM EST, ground speed 500, 37,000 feet.

"Nothing showing on radar for Air Traffic Control and nothing showing on the Traffic Collision Avoidance System.

"We witnessed it for about five minutes at which point it disappeared and then came back. It looked like two boxes melting into each other.

"Actual sighting was spectacular beyond what this video shows. We were stunned."
