The most and least common dates of the year to be born… are YOU one of the special ones?
- September is the most popular month for birthdays
- Experts believe this is because many people conceive more in the winter

If you have ever wondered how common your birthday is, look no further.
A heat map shared online reveals more people are born in September and July, while the rarest birthdays are in November, December and January.
September 12, 18, 25 and 26 – which are all around nine months after the holiday season – were found to be the most common days for births.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, around Christmas is one of the least likely days to be born, along with New Year’s Day. But some that may shock people are July 4 and late November.

The popular birthdays in September are widely believed to be due to the cold weather experienced during the previous winter, encouraging more people to stay indoors.
September 9 is the most common in this dataset, with September 19 as the second.
Following a customary gestation period, many of these babies would, in theory, have been conceived on December 17 and December 27.
The map also shows that public holidays – including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and the Fourth of July- are the least-likely days for births.
Most public hospitals in America refuse to schedule C-sections on national holidays – except for emergencies – while many private hospitals will arrange fewer.
It has long been thought that some doctors may deliberately induce a pregnancy so the birth occurs on a more convenient day.
The 13th of every month also suffered from a shortage of birthdays. In this case, superstition may be to blame.

Couples trying for a baby should have sex before 7:30 am on spring mornings if they want to become pregnant, research suggests.
Scientists at the University Hospital Zurich claim sperm have their own 24-hour internal clock, which is most potent in the early morning hours.
The Swiss researchers also discovered that sperm is the healthiest size and shape to fertilize an egg during March, April and May.
Experts analyzed semen samples from 7,068 men aged 25 and 40 undergoing fertility treatment.
The samples were cross-checked for sperm concentration, total sperm count, progressive motility and normal morphology.
Lead author Dr Brigitte Leeners said: ‘Male semen quality varies with both circadian and circannual rhythms.
Collection of semen in the early morning, where semen quality was highest, can be used to improve natural fertility.’
However, she added that the findings could also be used to boost the chances of conceiving through fertility treatments.
Semen collected in the spring months of March, April and May had the greatest concentration of sperm. Significant decreases were noted in the summer.
While samples collected in the early morning, before 7;30 am, showed the highest concentration levels and normal morphology.
