Uri Geller reckons he will cause a “historical earthquake” by finding the sacred Ark of the Covenant.

The psychic, who made his name by bending spoons with his mind on telly, says he has had a vision of the ancient religious relic and hopes to start digging for it later in the year.

The mystic, 75, told followers on Twitter: “I know where the Arc of the Covenant is I will find it mark my words.

“It will be an earth shattering historical tsunami and an archeological and a theological earthquake.”

He added: “Yes my dear friends the opposition will be huge but we are talking about an item that is holy and nothing will come in its way to be freed and shock the world into a biblical historical reality.”

And in an exclusive interview with the Daily Star Sunday, Uri revealed: “This will be huge. It will be an atomic blast that has never been seen before in history.

“People have been looking for this for centuries. Nobody knows where it is.

“But I know where it is. I have seen it via remote viewing. It has four golden rings on its corners. I can see it clearly.”

Uri said he cannot reveal where it is – but hinted it may still be in Israel.

The ark is believed to have been constructed by Moses after God told him to, and is one of the most mythologised objects in history.

It is a pure gold-covered wooden chest with an elaborate lid according to the Bible’s Book of Exodus it contains the two stone tablets of the Ten Commandments.

What happened next to it is a mystery.

It has been sought by archaeologists and treasure-hunters and is rumoured to possess great supernatural powers that caught the interest of Adolf Hitler.

It has featured in many books and films, including the 80s blockbuster Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, starring Harrison Ford.
