Pitchfork vigilantes are hunting a "Gimp Man" who terrified a teen girl when he confronted her dressed head-to-toe in latex.

The black latex-clad pervert returned on Sunday (June 26) after he was first spotted around sleepy Somerset villages some years ago.

Despite arresting two people back then, police never got to the bottom of the mystery.

Steve Elston, whose daughter Kiera Elston, 19, was approached with boyfriend Lewis Webb, 21, by the rubber rotter this weekend, is among disgusted locals now pledging to hunt him down.

It was the 15th suspected sighting of the fetish fiend in villages between Bristol and Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, in four years.

In a Facebook appeal he wrote: "Last night my daughter and her boyfriend were approached by Gimp Man at around 1am at the top of Claverham Road where it meets Yatton High Street.

"Could you pm me if you have any suspicions as to who he is? Kiera was absolutely terrified.

"She contacted the police who didn’t even come round to take a statement. So I’ll be on the hunt for him myself."

A group has been set up so locals can walk around in teams.

Its members said they were not encouraging people to put themselves in danger but hoped to support neighbours and raise awareness.

Others on social media pledged to join the search. "He’ll be hot under the collar in that get up when we get hold of him," said one.

Teaching assistant Keira said of the ordeal: "It was the most terrifying experience of my life. I’ve got the image in my head of him walking towards me and staring.

"I dread to think what would have happened if I’d been on my own."

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said by the time officers reached the scene on Sunday the man Kiera saw had vanished.

"She described him as more than 6ft tall and slim and said the incident had caused her alarm and distress," he said.

"Officers carried out a search of the area but found no trace of the man. Neighbourhood officers are following up on the incident and carrying out extra patrols.

The spokesman added that the force was keeping an "open mind" as to whether it was the same man who had caused alarm to locals before.

"If you have any information, dashcam or CCTV footage which could help to identify the man, please call," he added.

Previous victim Abi, 25, said when she heard about the latest sighting: "My heart felt like I was running a marathon.

"There was an instant feeling of panic, anxiety and anger again which took me over a year of private counselling and medications to control."

When she encountered the Gimp Man she said he was touching his groin, grunting and breathing heavily.
