Virgin Media broadband appears to be suffering an outage in several locations across the UK.
Thousands of user complaints picked up by the independent site DownDetector indicate London is the worst-affected location.
Most people who are experiencing difficulties (80 per cent) say the problem is with their cable internet, not Virgin’s mobile services.
The outage coincides with thousands of other people complaining that sites like Zoom and Twitter have crashed.

While it is not clear if these websites and services are experiencing their own technical issues, it appears the reports are linked to the problems at Virgin.

MailOnline has approached Virgin Media for comment.

Virgin Media is one of the most popular broadband providers in the UK and, unlike other internet service providers, has its own infrastructure and does not use the Openreach network.
As a result, customers on BT, TalkTalk, Sky or other networks are unaffected.
