Alton Towers launches chocolate-themed Cadbury hotel room with free bars and puzzles

ALTON Towers has opened a chocolate-themed room at the theme park's main hotel, with free bars of the sweet stuff for guests.

Inside the suite, painted the iconic Cadbury purple, is room for a family of six.

There is a double bed and double sofa bed as well as two bunkbeds.

Guests who stay at the hotel suite will be able to interact with the room to find the hidden chocolate.

Solve the puzzles and clues throughout the room and you can unlock the safe to find more sweet treats.

Also in the suite are cogs and dials so kids can pretend they are in their own chocolate factory.

Janet Gurr, Hotels and Accommodation Development Director said: “We were really excited to partner with Cadbury to create our new chocolate room.

"After a fun-filled day of thrilling world-class rollercoasters and splashtastic water rides, families can continue the magic in the chocolate factory themed suite and hunt for the hidden chocolate bars."

“We pride ourselves on creating thrilling, memorable and innovative experiences and we’re sure our guests will love the latest addition in our portfolio of unique themed suites.”

It isn't the only themed room at the hotel, with princess rooms and a brand new Gangsta Granny room as part of the new David Walliams attraction.

The theme park is reopening on April 12 and they've got so much pent-up excitement that they're holding their own carnival for the first time.

The theme park is kicking off summer with a Mardi Gras-inspired carnival celebration, running from May 22 to June 20.

From that same day, visitors can also book a stay in a Woodland Lodge in the Alton Towers Enchanted Village from £165.

Until May 17, guests staying overnight are only allowed one household per accommodation.

The park will also have a number of Covid measures in place, including:

  • Mandatory pre-booked tickets online
  • Temperature checks on entry
  • Mandatory face masks on guests over the age of 6
  • Additional hygiene stations and hand sanitiser stations
  • Social distancing markers on the floor

The chocolate-themed hotel room is hardly the first of its kind – an entire hotel dedicated to it called the Chocolate Boutique hotel is open in Bournemouth.

A number of Movenpick hotels around the world regularly offer free chocolate to guests during their stay from desserts to ice creams.

We've rounded up the best hotel buffets around the world, any of which include entire chocolate rooms.
