Another country removes the UK from their red travel list – and it's a big deal for Brits later this year

ANOTHER country has lifted more Covid restrictions for British tourists.

Qatar has removed the UK from their red list, after putting the country on it back in November.

This meant that Brits had to quarantine when they arrived, even if fully vaccinated.

However, UK arrivals no longer have to self-isolate when they enter the country.

All arrivals, both vaccinated and unvaccinated, have to still submit a negative PCR test 48 hours before arrival, and show it before boarding, as well as upload all relevant documents and vaccine certificates up to three days before arrival.

Travellers will also need to sign an undertaking and acknowledgement form and download the Ehteraz app.

Qatar Tourism explained: "Visitors must register via the pre-travel registration system and upload all relevant official documents, where applicable, such as vaccination certificates, evidence of previous Covid-19 infection, serology antibody test results (for conditional vaccines), and PCR lab result, at least three days before arrival."

It is great news for Brits planning a holiday later this year to Qatar, who are holding the 2022 Fifa World Cup.

The Three Lions sealed their place at the finals in November.

Spain holiday boost as Majorca and Ibiza scrap more Covid rules

England fans faced a mad scramble for hotels at the Qatar World Cup last year after the entire country almost completely sold out.

Around 4,000 cabins on cruise ships will be up for grabs as they dock in Doha next winter, and around 90,000 rooms are set to become available via a website through Qatar’s Supreme Committee, in charge of planning the event.

A number of other holiday hotspots have lifted their restrictions in recent weeks.

Tunisia no longer requires kids up to the age of 18 to have any vaccine passports or Covid tests to enter the country.

This is similar to Spain who has lifted more of its vaccine restrictions, after it scrapped the rules requiring teenagers to have both jabs to enter.

Dubai no longer requires tests from vaccinated arrivals along with Italy and Cyprus.

And Iceland has lifted all of their Covid travel restrictions, including for unvaxxed holidaymakers.
