Another popular holiday hotspot announces mandatory quarantine for Brits – unless they have had their booster

AUSTRIA has confirmed that all Brits visiting the country will be forced into a mandatory 10-day quarantine – unless they have had their booster.

Austrian authorities have said that only UK arrivals who have had three jabs, and have a negative Covid test, can enter the country without self-isolating.

The UK is now registered as a "virus variant area" which will ruin plans for family holidays due to kids and teenagers yet to be offered the booster.

A spokesperson for the Austrian National Tourist Office told TTG: “Due to the rapid spread of the Omicron variant, the United Kingdom will be classified as a virus variant region.

“Everyone travelling from the UK needs to quarantine for 10 days upon arrival even if fully vaccinated.”

People from Norway, Denmark and the Netherlands have also been banned.

The new rules are in place from Christmas Day.
