You can also book European city breaks from £129pp – perfect now that many destinations have dropped their Covid restrictions, especially for vaccinated travellers.

In terms of flight deals, the cheapest we spotted was for Dublin, where one-way flights start from just £23.

Flights to Krakow for example start from £33 each way. The Polish city is well known for being an affordable holiday destination, which means you don’t have to splash out when you get there.
You can also get flights to Prague, the Czech capital and another budget-friendly city, for £34 each way.
For those looking for a beach holiday, one-way flights to Malaga start from just £29, Nice is £30, and Sardinia is £33.

But if you’re going for a weekend break, you might find it cheaper to book one of BA’s ATOL-protected package holidays.
All of the flights in this case include 23kg checked luggage whereas the cheapest fares for flights don’t always.
Plus, the cost of the hotel – usually two nights – is included too.

The price includes return flights with a luggage allowance and two nights’ accommodation on a room-only basis.
