IS there anything better than a cheap staycation to a theme park?

We've rounded up the cheapest deals on the best theme parks in the UK this year, including admission tickets and overnight stays.

The deals include family favourites like Thorpe Park, Legoland, Chessington and Paultons Park.

Here are the best deals we've found for this year…

Thrope Park

Thorpe Park is home to the fastest rollercoaster in the UK, Stealth, and The Swarm, the only winged coaster in the country.

The park also has water rides, including the 85ft Tidal Wave and the Rumba Rapids, along with Saw – The Ride, the first horror-themed rollercoaster in the world.

There are also family-friendly rides for younger kids, like the tea cups, bumper cars and Rumba Rapids, a white water raft ride down Thorpe Park Resort's churning waterway.

A lesser-known adventure at Thorpe Park comes after the park closes and all rides come to a halt.

You can take a VIP Coaster Climb of The Swarm (available at an extra cost), where you'll be guided up the rollercoaster's 180 steps – strapped into a harness, of course.

For overnight stays instead, there are deals from £56pp in September, including two-day park tickets, free breakfast, free wifi and free parking.

Alton Towers

Alton Towers is home to world-class rollercoasters, with more than 40 rides, including its most popular thrill-rides, Galactica, Rita, Nemesis, Oblivion, Thirteen and The Smile.

While CBeebies Land has just opened three new rides, including Big Adventure Badge, Andy's Adventures Dinosaur Dig, and JoJo & Gran Gran At Home.

Kids will also have the chance to meet their favourite CBeebies characters.

The Land also has daily live performances, including the Teletubbies, Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy, and Captain Barnacles.

While the water park has popular rides like the Master Blaster, Rush, and more interactive activities.

The Little Leak section is also available for smaller children, with a little paddling pool, slides, and water activities.

Day tickets are available from £36pp online and also include a rainy day guarantee – meaning you'll get a free return visit if it's raining during your visit.

While for waterpark admission is £16.50 and the 18-hole golf course costs from £6.

Legoland

Legolandhas more than 55 rides and attractions, including a Ninjago ride, driving in Lego cars and a Mini-Land for little ones.

Legoland has recently opened a brand new attraction at the theme park, inside Mythica land.

The Magical Forest features fantasy creatures created from 80,000 Lego bricks.

Kids walk through an immersive light tunnel with special effects and lights, and they'll also see Lego creatures come to life, thanks to Augmented Reality.

One-day park entry costs from £32pp, while children under 90cm can enter for free.

The short breaks cost from £55pp and include 2-day park tickets, an overnight stay at an offsite partner hotel or on-site hotel, and free breakfast.

The on-site hotel is home to Bricks, a family restaurant with 22 epic Lego models dotted across the room and giant characters doing meet-and-greets during your dinner.

Paultons Park

Paultons Park in Hampshire is home to Peppa Pig World and features more than 70 rides, including roller coasters, family rides and attractions.

Guests will find Grampy Rabbit's Sailing Club, The Queen's Flying Coach, Grandpa Pig's Little Train and Peppa's Big Balloon in the Peppa Pig World.

Kids can also enjoy play areas, as well as meet and greets with Peppa Pig and George Pig.

Peppa Pig World isn't the only attraction at Paultons Park, as there's also Tornado Spring, a world set in a midwest desert resort town in the 1950s.

Other themed worlds include the Lost Kingdom, Critter Creek and Little Africa.

Prices vary depending on the season, with tickets costing from £24.75, while family tickets are also available for three, four or five members, with prices from £74.25.

Overnight stays at one of the partner hotels cost from £44pp and include free breakfast, a 2nd-day park entry and free parking at the park.

Chessington

Chessington World of Adventure offers more than 40 rides and attractions, including lazy rivers, water rides and flying carousels, meaning there is something to suit everyone's taste.

Visitors will be able to sail to the brand new Shipwreck Coast that opened last month, where they'll find two new rides and new animal species.

In Barrel Bail Out, guests will be whizzed around in barrels trapped in a whirlpool that they have to empty of water.

While on the Trawler Trouble, the captain of a trapped fishing boat needs help getting it freed, so guests will be tossed around like they're riding choppy waves.

A good trick to make the most of your Chessington stay is to download the 'Chessington Resort' app to find the shortest queues, ride availability and daily offers – and it also shows the nearest toilets.

One-day tickets cost from £37pp and include entry to the theme park, Zoo and SEA LIFE Centre.

Overnight breaks are available from £50pp during midweek stays or £75pp during the summer holidays and weekends.

The deal includes an overnight stay, early entry to the park, zoo and SEA LIFE Centre, plus access to the Savannah splash pool.

To make the deals even better, free breakfast, free parking and hotel entertainment are also included in the price.

Milky Way Adventure Park

The Milky Way Adventure Park in Clovelly is the fifth best in the world, according to TripAdvisor's annual Travellers' Choice Theme Park And Water Park Awards.

The family-owned park in North Devon features a Cosmic Typhoon coaster, Cyber Scooter and shoot lasers on Ziggy's Blast Quest, the Jumping Jupiters and take on the huge death slide.

Cosmic Typhoon is the park's biggest coaster; however, the most popular attraction is the dodgems, which are housed in a darkened room designed to create the atmosphere of a night at the fair.

There are also live shows, as well as sports and crafts sessions.

An admission ticket costs £16.95 for adults and children over 4, while younger kids can get in for just £8.95.

For a last-minute family staycation, Pontins has breaks from £4pp a night during the school summer holidays.
