Cruise ship workers claim that the ‘crew have more sex on board than students in college dorms’

CRUISE ship workers are reportedly having more sex on board than students in "college dorms".

And according to insiders, it's all down to living in such close quarters for long periods of time.

Former and current crew members told Business Insider that living with their co-workers has created a unique environment where close bonds form very quickly.

It has also created a "hookup culture" that's not unlike those found in college dorms in the US.

One former casino manager on a cruise ship admitted: "There's a lot of sex on cruise ships."

Others explained how relationships move much faster at sea than on land due to the amount of contact time crew have with each other.

Former cruise director Taylor Sokol said one month on a cruise is "like two years on land".

However with the cramped environment comes problems, with some admitting they often cheated or targeted those who were single.

One woman who worked on a cruise ship said she was hit on by other members of staff as soon as her boyfriend finished his contract on the ship.

Chad Stone, who used to work as a production manager, ended his engagement to a fellow member of staff after he found out his fiancee was cheating on him between contracts.

Sun Online Travel previously revealed several sordid secrets of life at sea.

An ex crew member explained how officers would be able to see a lot from the bridge:  "From there you can see a lot of ocean view balconies.

"Officers say they see people f***ing All.The.Time."
