Cyprus eases Covid travel rules for Brits from today – including for unvaccinated tourists

CYPRUS has relaxed its travel rules for Brits, including on-arrival Covid tests for unvaccinated holidaymakers.

From today, the country no longer requires travellers to complete a Cyprus Flight Pass within 48 hours of arrival.

It has also scrapped on-arrival tests for unvaccinated holidaymakers, although they still have to provide a negative PCR test within 72 hours of travel, or a rapid antigen test within 24 hours of travel.

The new changes mean vaccinated Brits over the age of 12 can holiday in the country without any entry requirements.

Children who arrive in Cyprus before their 12th birthday are also exempt from pre-arrival testing.

Cyprus will accept the UK’s proof of COVID-19 vaccination record, with the final vaccine dose required at least 14 days prior to travel.

Travellers aged 18 and over are considered fully vaccinated only if a period of 9 months has not elapsed since the last dose.

Those aged between 12 and 18 are considered to have completed their vaccination scheme if they have received the 2nd dose in the case of a two-dose vaccine or the 1st dose in the case of a single-dose vaccine.

Visitors may still have their temperature tested at the entrance of the airport terminal though, and wearing masks is compulsory in all areas of the airport.

Holidaymakers heading to Greece this summer have also been given a boost after the country confirmed most of their Covid restrictions will be scrapped.

From May 1, people will no longer need to present a coronavirus vaccination certificate to enter bars, restaurants and other attractions.

Wearing masks indoors will no longer be mandatory as of June 1, with more information regarding the venues that still require them nearer the time.
