Cyprus lifts more Covid restrictions for British tourists

CYPRUS has scrapped more of their Covid travel rules for vaccinated Brits.

Previously, Brits had to have a negative PCR test result taken within 72hrs before departure or a lateral flow test taken within 24hrs before departure.

However, from today, the country has scrapped the required tests for Brits entering the country.

Anyone who can show they have been fully vaccinated no longer needs to have a test before entering Cyprus, nor do they have to pay for a second test on arrival.

To be fully vaccinated, Brits have to have had their second jab less than nine months ago, or had their booster jab since.

Unvaccinated Brits will still need to have a pre-arrival test, as well as pay for the PCR test at the airport after arriving, as the UK remains on Cyprus' red list.

Anyone over the age of 12 also had to have a PCR test at the airport, costing between €15 – €19, followed by a third free lateral flow test after 72 hours, if you haven't had your booster.

Kids under 12 are exempt from all testing requirements.

Row over reclining seat on flight divides opinion – but who’s in the right?

A number of holiday hotspots have lifted their restrictions in recent weeks.

Tunisia no longer requires kids up to the age of 18 to have any vaccine passports or Covid tests to enter the country.

This is similar to Spain who has lifted more of its vaccine restrictions, after it scrapped the rules requiring teenagers to have both jabs to enter.

Dubai no longer requires tests from vaccinated arrivals along with Italy.

And Iceland has lifted all of their Covid travel restrictions, including for unvaxxed holidaymakers.

Brits can return to the UK easier too after the UK lifted nearly all of the travel restrictions for holidaymakers, with Covid tests no longer required from vaccinated travellers.

Arrivals only need to fill in a Passenger Locator Form, although it is hoped this could be scrapped by Easter.
