European destination lifts ALL Covid restrictions – including for unvaxxed travellers

ICELAND has lifted all of their Covid travel restrictions – including for unvaxxed holidaymakers.

They are one of the first countries to remove all rules enforced during the pandemic.

Minister of Health, Willum Thór Thórsson confirmed that from today, "all public restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic will be lifted, both domestically and at the border".

This includes any quarantine restrictions, and limits on social gatherings.

He also confirmed that there are no rules in place at the border."regardless of whether individuals are vaccinated or unvaccinated".

He added: “We can truly rejoice at this turning-point, but nonetheless I encourage people to be careful, practice personal infection prevention measures and not to interact with others if they notice symptoms."

This means Brits can now visit Iceland, which many travel to for the Northern Lights, Blue Lagoon and the capital city of Reykjavik, without needing any Covid tests, forms or isolation periods.

Jet2 boss Steve Heapy praised the news, saying: “This is an enormous step towards normality for international travel as it represents a country saying that travel is back to how it looked before the pandemic."

The UK has also lifted nearly all of the travel restrictions for holidaymakers, with Covid tests no longer required from vaccinated travellers.

Arrivals only need to fill in a Passenger Locator Form, although it is hoped this could be scrapped by Easter.

Unvaccinated arrivals must still pay for pre-arrival and day two Covid tests.
