Eurostar to increase services between UK and Paris ahead of half term holidays

EUROSTAR will increase its services between the UK and Paris ahead of the February half term holidays.

Half term is right around the corner and some families might be planning on heading abroad for some fun while school is out.

Trips to France are being made even easier as from January 24, Eurostar is increasing the number of trains from London St Pancras to Paris Gare Du Nord.

There will be one extra service during the week and two extra services on Fridays and Sundays, totalling 24 trips a week.

So from Monday, there will be three trains daily on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, five trains on Fridays and four trains on Sundays.

Eurostar said: “We welcome the safe reduction of travel restrictions which will allow our customers to travel more freely between the UK and France.

"We are ready to welcome more passengers on board and will continue to increase the frequency of our services in the coming weeks to offer passengers more flexibility and choice.”

This will be welcome news to families with plans to go to Disneyland Paris during half term, as well as for people who want to soak up some culture in the French city.

France lifted its UK travel ban last week and there has been a surge in Brits booking trips to the country.

However, since the ban was lifted, more Covid restrictions have been introduced in France.

Masks are now compulsory in some outdoor settings in Paris due to a new rule which was passed by police.

Masks must now be worn at all gatherings, marches or organised activities of more than 10 people held in a public space, as well as entrances to shopping centres.

They are also required in outdoor markets, in any queues in public outdoor areas and in waiting areas for public transport.

Vaccinated Brits can travel to the country, but will still need a negative test taken within 24 hours of arriving in France – which can be a lateral flow or PCR test.

Unvaccinated Brits will need a compelling reason to enter the country and have to quarantine for 10 days.
