First seven-star waterpark in the world to open in Europe this month with huge spa and 21 pools | The Sun

A NEW £50million waterpark is opening in Europe – with 21 pools and a huge spa.

It will be the world's first waterpark to have a seven-star rating.

The RQ Water Experience Park and Spa will feature 21 pools and bathing areas, slides, and a spa.

But the site's main attraction will be a huge water slide tower.

Parts of the park will celebrate aspects of Hungarian culture such as soda water, which the country claimed was invented by Hungarian scientist Anyos Jedlik in the 1800s.

CGI images also show a number of pools nestled among wooden walkways and green spaces.

According to Daily News Hungary, the project has cost more than €60million (£50million), and is thought to be the largest sum of money invested in a spa in Hungary.

The new attraction has been described as a "game changer" for the country and will become one of the most advanced waterparks in Europe.

Located in Győr near the Moson-Danube and Rába rivers, the waterpark can be reached via three capital cities in Europe.

From the Hungarian capital, Budapest, the waterpark is a 60-minute drive away.

A direct train also runs between two cities.

Both Wizzair and Ryanair operate direct routes to Budapest, with prices starting at £30.

Meanwhile, the park is just over an hour's drive away from both Bratislava in Slovakia and Vienna in Austria.

Wizzair operates direct flight to both capital cities with tickets starting at £23 for a one-way journey.

More information is set to be revealed about the waterpark before it opens to the public on June 17.

In the UK, Splash World in Southport recently reopened its doors after being temporarily closed for more than four years.

After undergoing a full refurbishment, the waterpark opened on May 27.

It now has a wide range of attractions, including thrilling water slides, a lazy river, and interactive play areas suitable for all ages.

And a huge new £250million waterpark is opening in the UK – with 20 swimming pools and 35 water slides.
