Most of the rooms in the hotel have normal stylish decor, but they have a handful of ‘wizard’s chambers’ in the basement and I was blown away by the attention to detail.

What is there to do at Georgian House Hotel?

The restaurants of Soho and the shops of Oxford Street are a short bus ride away.

But there's plenty going on at the hotel to keep you entertained.

What is there to eat and drink at Georgian House Hotel?

The hotel is laying on an Enchanted Afternoon Tea (£40 per adult) on weekends throughout October, with additional days during half term.

We had a brilliant time feasting on spooky-themed food, including witch's hat sandwiches and popping candy jam scones, accompanied by ‘wizard’s tears’ soda for my three year old and a bright blue G&T for the adults, while the table was coated in the mist of a smoking cauldron centrepiece.

The breakfast is also good, with a selection of hot dishes and a
continental buffet, plus award-winning coffee.

What are the rooms like at Georgian House Hotel?

Rooms are spellbindingly good.

We crept through an eerie hallway on the way to our room, which looked like it came straight out of a Harry potter film.

Gothic-style wardrobes, stained-glass windows, a faux-coal fire, four poster bunk beds with red velvet privacy curtains and trinkets covering the surfaces kept my son entertained for hours.

The theme didn’t distract from the comfort though, with the beds, towels and toiletries all comfortably high-end.

An added benefit was the bag of ‘magic coins’ my preschooler was
entrusted with on check-in, which he could use to buy spooky treats
like chocolate frogs from the hotel reception tuck box.

How much is Georgian House Hotel?

A stay in a Wizard Chamber costs from £258, or a Family Wizard Chamber sleeping up to two adults and two children costs from £350. See georgianhousehotel.co.uk.

Is Georgian House Hotel family friendly?

Yes. My son, who usually gets itchy feet in restaurants, was captivated for two hours straight during afternoon tea and potion-making, and the chambers are the best themed rooms I’ve ever visited.
