Get a job as Santa's elf in LAPLAND – for the best job in the world this Christmas

FORGET the Caribbean, there's only one place to be in between November and January – at the North Pole.

Proper Christmas fans who never feel like Christmas Day lasts long enough can now enjoy the entire festive season in Lapland as one of Santa's elves.

A company called Lapland Safaris is advertising for elves to come and work across several Finnish Lapland destinations.

Obviously, elves aren't actually going to be tasked with preparing wooden toys and cleaning out Rudolph's stable.

Instead, they will work with families who have taken a holiday to Lapland to see Father Christmas.

Elvers will be responsible for chores like leading the right customers to the right bus, but also to act as "an entertainer, a guide and a mythical creature of Christmas."

The job description requires elves to be energetic, outgoing, positive persons with good customer skills, with good oral skills in English and preferably other language skills like French, Spanish and German.

Before the start of the actual work, all elves are sent on an Arctic Hospitality Guide training course at the Arctic Hospitality Academy, run by Lapland Safaris, Lapland Hotels and local schools in tourism.

Training includes learning the required elfing and communication skills for the job.

The job starts at the end of November and lasts until the beginning of January, with employees given help to find accommodation in shared apartments.
