Hotel cleaner reveals the 'three-minute' job all guests should do when checking out – but not everyone agrees | The Sun

A HOTEL cleaner has revealed the "three minute job" that makes their life much easier – but not everyone is convinced.

TikTok user Kay works as a housekeeper at a hotel, and shared her advice on her social media page.

In the video, she explained that guests who strip the bedding when they leave help them with their job massively.

She said in her video, as she showed a hotel room she was cleaning: "As a housekeeper, this is lovely.

"These guests have stripped the beds which takes a good three or four minutes off this room for me.

"And as we have to get each room done in a set amount of time, doing things like this is you are staying in a hotel, you're f****** amazing."

The video has been watched more than 600,000 times, with some people saying they will do that next time they stay.

One person said: "Never thought about this before but duly noted. I'll do it in the future."

Someone else agreed: "I didn’t realise this was helpful but I’ll definitely be doing this on my next hotel stay."

However, other people said they wouldn't be doing it next time they were at a hotel.

Someone wrote: "I leave my room tidy but I'm not paying to strip the bed."

Another said: "Nope sorry I make sure it’s cleared but that’s not my job! No one does mine and rightly so."

A third added: "I don't pay to stay in a hotel so I do housework."

Kay later said in the comments that she isn't asking everyone to do it, nor did she want to make people feel guilty, but just wanted to "show gratitude" to those who do.

An ex-hotel cleaner agreed with this and said guests should never make the bed when they leave.

She told Business Insider: "If we think you haven't used the bed at all, we may not change the sheet.

They added it is actually better if the bed "looks slept in" when they are cleaning the room.
