Huge changes to holidays from tomorrow as UK drops travel rules

GOING abroad is about to get a lot easier as the UK is scrapping its remaining Covid travel rules.

From 4am tomorrow, long-winded Passenger Locator Forms are being ditched, along with Covid tests for unvaccinated Brits.

The changes have come ahead of the Easter holidays and will save travellers time and money.

We've put together a full list of travel changes from tomorrow.

Passenger Locator Forms scrapped

The scrapping of PLFs is the big change from tomorrow, and is the only one that impacts vaccinated travellers.

The form currently has to be filled out by all arrivals into the UK, and asks for information about your travel details, address and vaccination status.

Although the form was simplified last month, it's still time-consuming and an added hassle for travellers, so holidaymakers will be relieved to see the back of it.

Pre-departure tests scrapped for unvaxxed

Pre-departure tests were scrapped for vaccinated Brits back in January, but were kept in place for unvaccinated travellers.

From tomorrow, no one will have to do them – regardless of vaccination status.

Day two tests scrapped for unvaxxed

Day two tests were also ditched for vaccinated Brits in February.

Unvaccinated Brits still had to take them – this is no longer the case from tomorrow.

Airlines ditching mandatory face masks

A growing number of airlines are ditching mandatory face masks onboard, with more dropping rules this week.

Yesterday, British Airways scrapped masks, following in the footsteps of Jet2 and TUI, while Virgin Atlantic has said they will start scrapping them on flights to the Caribbean.

Ryanair is expected to drop mandatory masks in the coming weeks, as boss Michael O'Leary said they're likely to be scrapped by spring.

According to the Evening Standard, he said he hopes to see the end of masks on planes by "the end of April or May".

Additionally, Heathrow Airport has ditched mandatory face masks, giving the choice of wearing one or not to passengers.
