I'm a concierge at a 5-star hotel, and I've got dirt on rich and famous guests

THE rich and famous famously get up to all sorts in hotel rooms – televisions have been chucked out of windows almost since they were invented.

A concierge has now added fuel to the fire by dishing the dirt on the VIP guests who stayed at the five-star hotel he worked at.

Reddit user u/Rinsetheplates_first opened up on the forum, answering questions about the hotel guests he'd put up with while working.

When someone asked what was the worst thing he saw a famous person do, he replied: "One couple paid to stay in two separate rooms.

"The excuse he gave me was that his wife snored… the two nights they were there I showed three different women to his room, all at least half his age."

When asked whether he was ever asked to get drugs for celebs, he replied

He replied: "No I haven't ever been asked personally, but once saw a bag of white powder fall out of [a celeb's] pocket."

Why you should NEVER book a hotel room above the fourth floor

"They didn't notice and I didn't know what to do. When he turned round, I just said 'I think you dropped that' – bit awkward."

And while he'd never done anything illegal himself in order to help a guest, he had been witness to some rich people breaking the rules.

He said: "Some of our more affluent guests arrive at the nearby airport in their private jet or helicopter. We go and pick them up.

"Obviously airports have certain rules regarding security and passport checks, but 90 per cent of the pick ups I've done we drive them straight out off the airfield without any security."

It's not just front of house staff who have to put up with the rich and famous, the Reddit user explained the cleaning staff had a raw deal tidying up after them.

'One guest tried to fix a sex swing to the ceiling'

He said: "After one particular guest checked out, housekeeping found half the ceiling was all over the floor in their room. It turned out they had tried to anchor a sex swing to the plaster."

But he also revealed that working for celebrities could be very lucrative. He said his biggest ever tip was "£200 for taking his dog for a 10-minute walk".

Incredibly discreet, he only broke his name dropping rule ban to reveal how nice magician and illusionist Derren Brown was.

Someone asked him: "Are there any particular celebrities that were especially nice and easy to deal with?"

He answered: "To be honest, most of them are – it's very rare you get a diva. That said, TV personalities are generally nicer than pop stars.

"The nicest guy I ever met was Derren Brown."

He concluded that generally celebs were nicer than he'd expected, and it was the people who were borderline rich that were the worst.

He said: "On the whole, famous people were much nicer than I thought they would be. Someone asked me if the nearly rich are worse than the rich and they really are."
