I'm a Disney expert and here's how we keep celebrities away from crowds at the theme park

DISNEY theme parks are often very busy, as thousands of people flock to the "happiest place on Earth" every day.

But for those people who want to avoid the crowds and stay below the radar – such as celebrities – there are special tricks to help keep them incognito.

The most recent sighting of celebs at Disney theme parks include Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin, who visited with Beyonce and Blue Ivy, although the Kardashians, Ariana Grande and Lizzo have also previously shared pics when they visited the theme park.

A Disney travel agent has revealed how they keep celebs away from crowds when they visit the theme parks.

Greg Antonelle explained that when famous people visit the parks, they generally want to avoid being mobbed by fans so they can enjoy the rides and attractions like everyone else.

He told Insider: "When celebrities are here, they just want to be like anybody else. They're just looking to have fun."

To do that, celebs often book onto a private Disney VIP tour, where they will be picked up from their hotel in a private car and taken around the park by a cast member.

As part of the VIP package, celebs can skip queues for rides and some restaurants and benefit from backstage parking – which helps keep their presence on the down low.

The VIP tour doesn't come cheap though – at up to $850 an hour with a minimum booking time of seven hours, it can cost up to $5,950 and doesn't include entry tickets to the theme park.

Greg said that celebs have also been known to throw on a basic disguise of a hat and sunglasses to stop people from recognising them.

As well as keeping crowds to a minimum, Greg explained that wealthier guests expect a high standard of care throughout their trip.

To accomplish that, Greg, who owns a travel agency, said that he will send the travel agent who booked the holiday over to Disney World to help the celebs in person.

The agent will organise dining reservations and keep an eye on crowd levels so they can usher the celeb away if it gets too busy.

Greg added: "They'll almost act as their assistant for the week."
