I'm a hotel worker and this is how you're getting scammed on your breakfast

BAGGING a complimentary hotel breakfast is one of the best parts of spending a night away.

But the smugness you usually feel for getting a free meal is about to fade because a hotel worker has revealed guests often get scammed on their first meal of the day.

A Tiktok user with the handle @khammer123 shared a video showing the breakfast cereals available at a hotel.

He showed three Kellogg's cereals in plastic dispensers which each had a sticker naming what was inside – Raisin Bran, Froot Loops and Frosted Flakes.

The dispensers even had the red Kellogg's logo on the dials and said Kellogg's on the plastic stand.

The Tiktok user said: "Just look at these nice named brand cereals, nothing to see here."

He then walked into a storage cupboard to reveal the actual packaging the cereals came in, which was all unbranded.

He said: "They cappin [lying] to you. None of it's named brand, it's all a lie. Don't trust anybody."

The video has been watched 686,000 times and viewers had mixed reactions to the revelation.

He shared the revelation in a Tiktok video and told viewers: "Don't trust anybody"

One person wrote: "Same thing, made at the same factory, just put into different packaging."

Another put: "It's the same – all you're paying for is the brand [name]", and someone else wrote: "It tastes the same."

A fourth wrote: "It's cereal. Who gives a s*** in a fancy continental breakfast."

Others were unhappy about what they'd seen and thought the false advertising was unacceptable.

One person wrote: "This isn't ok", and another put: "Everything at a hotel is a lie, EVERYTHING."

Someone else shared their concerns about the risk of having an allergic reaction to a product that was mislabelled.

They put: "I'm not familiar with off brand vs name brand but if they use different ingredients this could actually be very dangerous."

A former hotel worker has revealed how you can always get a free breakfast to take from your hotel.

But be warned, another ex-hotel employee shared why you should never eat the hot breakfast – especially the eggs and waffles.
