I'm a pilot's wife and these are the things I NEVER pack when I travel | The Sun

THE wife of a pilot has revealed the items that she no longer packs in her bag when travelling.

Jen Lefforge provides travel tips on her Youtube channel Joyful Living with Jen Lefforge, which has more than 26,000 subscribers.

In a video posted earlier this year, Jen explained the key travel items she no longer packs when travelling, to save space in her bag and allow her to travel with only hand luggage.

She said: "I travel about once a month.

"Over my years of being a travel vlogger, I have learnt some things that used to work for me that just don't anymore."

Neck Pillow

The first thing on her list of items that she longer travels with is a neck pillow.

Many people take the pillows on flights to help them get to sleep, but Jen said that actually they aren't really that helpful.

She explained: "If you are going on a really long overseas flight this might still make sense for you, but I have found that even ones that I thought worked, if I'm trying to get solid sleep, they just don't. And they take up so much space.

"I just find it's one more thing to be a germ catcher on my bag, they don't work for me."

Camera

Capturing holiday snaps has become much simpler with the invention of the smart phone and even for travel vloggers like Jen, the hassle of carrying a big camera is no longer worth it.

HOT STUFF

I'm a flight attendant and I always take a £16 money-saving item on holiday

She said: "I no longer travel with a camera. Once I got my iPhone 13, I found that the quality I was getting with my iPhone was not only every bit as good as the quality I was getting out of my camera, it was better.

"And the convenience of just having it right there on me at all times and not having to fuss with SD cards or battery chargers, meant it was a better option.

"It was a lot to pack in my bag and a lot to carry around. It's just so stinking convenient."

Toiletries

In Jen's continued attempts to make room in her hand luggage, shampoo and conditioner have also been cast aside.

She explained that a lot of the time, she simply doesn't need to take her own.

She said: "I never carry my own shampoo and conditioner and I rarely carry my own body lotion.

"Unless you're camping, everywhere you go is going to have shampoo and conditioner."
