I’m an Aussie in Glasgow – I don't go out after 4pm, it's a scary city | The Sun

A LAD from Oz who’s just moved to Glasgow told how he doesn’t go outside after 4pm because that is the time "wild locals" wake up.

The vlogger is travelling the world to experience different cultures and is taken aback at how different Scotland is.

He said he has run into neds and gives regular video updates on how to survive the mean city.

On his ShearingShedVlog account, said: “Glasgow is a fun and scary city.

“It’s a lot different out here. Australia is nothing like this. Glasgow is harder and scarier – but I love it.”

The vlogger spent some time in England before he spent weekends up north and decided to move up.

He’s only been living in Glasgow for a few days but reckons that there’s a different vibe as the day goes on.

He said: “The city kind of switches at 4pm.

"My friend was telling me that all the people that stay up all night and sleep during the day all wake up around then.

“So until 4pm it’s all the chill, normal people and after 4pm all the junkies start waking up.

"It’s so true.

"The city just gets sketchy after 4pm.”

The lad has managed to get some help from locals who have passed on some words of wisdom to keep him safe.

He was warned about neds but had no idea what they were like until he ran into a group of them at Glasgow Central.

He confessed he’s now scared of the gangs who he reckons rampage about armed with weapons.

The vlogger revealed: “My friend told me to watch out for the neds and I see what he’s talking about now.

“If you see a group of 15 kids apparently you need to stay away from them because nothing good happens. They all carry shanks and whatnot.

“Just kids screaming off the top of their lungs man. Just going crazy man. Wearing t-shirts and stuff when it’s freezing cold outside.”

The backpacker also got some advice on where to avoid in Glasgow to stay out of trouble.

He revealed: “My Scottish friend told me it’s fine in the city centre but stay out of the scheme.

“It’s good having a local’s perspective. It’s a foreign country to me.

"There are different rules and stuff.”

May locals have commented on the TikTok posts disagreeing with the tourist's review of Glasgow.

One wrote: "Glasgow isn’t that bad bro."

Another added: "Glasgow is one of the friendliest city’s in the UK!"
