A FORMER pilot has revealed the clever travel item he always takes on holiday.
And even better, it will set you back less than £6.
Mitch Brown, who used to fly for Delta Airlines, told Travel + Leisure why he always packs a headtorch.
He said: “I started traveling with a headlamp sometime in the last 20 years or so."
Mitch explained it was because they had to have their own backup light sources as pilots in case they lost power in the cockpit.
While he thankfully never needed it in an emergency situation, he said it has come in useful over the years.

He said: "Hotel lighting isn’t always as easy to navigate, like how the lights by the bed are either just out of reach or aren’t easy to switch on or off in the middle of the night.
“I’ve been thankful to have a headlamp more times than I can count, and it’s proven useful for big events like power outages or just walking to the bathroom in the middle of the night.”
He also praised it for being useful during hikes, while some waterproof ones are ideal too in case your bag leaks.
The cheapest one we can find is on Amazon for £5.99, called the Xndryan Head Torch here.
