Inside resort dubbed Cheshire-on-Sea that's loved by celebs where beach huts cost more than houses | The Sun

A LUXURY beach hut is set to smash records after going up for sale for £250,000 – in a resort in Wales labelled as Cheshire-on-Sea.

The hut is in a little village that is very popular with celebrities and has an award-winning beach.

Abersoch is situated on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales and is growing in popularity as a seaside staycation destination.

It is known by some as Cheshire-on-sea due to its popularity among wealthy visitors.

One of those tourists could soon be the owner of a beach hut worth more than the average house price in the county of Gwynedd, where the village is found.

The average house price in the county is around £220,000, while this beach property is up for £30,000 more.

UK seaside hotspot named as best holiday destination on a budget

The bathing hut features yellow and blue striped shutters and is just yards from the yacht club on the main beach.

It measures 26ft-wide by 9.8ft and is up for sale for £250,000.

Neighbouring huts on the beach have previously sold for £200,000, meaning the latest price-tag is set to break the record.

It's easy to see why people might be tempted, if they have the cash going spare.

Best beaches in the world revealed and one in the UK makes the list

Abersoch's own website boasts about having "great beaches, internationally recognised sailing waters, pleasant climate and beautiful scenery".

One of those beaches holds more than one award.

Visit Snowdonia explained: "There are three beaches at Abersoch – it’s the main beach that holds the Blue Flag and the Seaside Award.

"The beautiful, shady location makes Abersoch’s main beach perfect for lounging, but also popular with surfers, windsurfers and sailing enthusiasts."

Other visitors were impressed with the beach too, with one writing on TripAdvisor that it even remained quiet in July.

They wrote: "The view is stunning, and the beach huts so cute, no dogs on the left but loads of beach on the right for walking.

"It’s a beautiful beach and wasn’t crowded even in July if you just walk a little further down past the beach huts."

The views and beaches have attracted some big names, with the likes of Coleen Rooney and Bear Grylls both visiting previously.

Horse-riding and boat trips are among activities available for visitors, with outdoor pursuits the main draw.

Included in that is Hell's Mouth beach, which is incredibly popular for surfers and body boarders.

However, there's more to the water than just sports, with amazing wildlife spotted in the seas nearby.

Abersoch is a popular spot for bottle-nosed dolphins, while smaller harbour porpoises are also frequent visitors.

A small pod of the dolphins was filmed by Tiktoker Hannah Woolcombe (@hannahwoolcombe), who shared it to her followers.

In her video, she said: "Never gets boring seeing these beauties."

Back on land, the Wales Coast Path offers great coastal walks for those interested in taking a hike, while the world's fastest zipline at Zip World, Snowdonia is close enough for thrill-seekers to pay a visit.

Getting to Abersoch is easy, with trains running to nearby Pwllheli.

Rooms in the village, including breakfast, start from £50pp per night.

However camping is much more affordable, with nearby tent pitches starting from £15 per night.
