‘Karen’ causes outrage at holiday hotspot after protesting over local kids using beach for sports day

A tourist threatened to call the police on a group of primary school children while on holiday in St Kitts and Nevis.

A woman – since dubbed a 'Karen' by local media outlets – lay down on the beach in protest, in a bid to stop children training for a relay race.

In the viral video clip, children can be seen sprinting along the sandy shore carrying batons.

The woman can be seen on the phone, with the social media user who uploaded the footage claiming that the tourist was calling the police.

She can then be seen confronting local parents who were cheering on the children in their baton race.

Eventually, the disgruntled tourist takes her protest to the next level by laying down in the sand and blocking the children's racing path.

One social media user commented: "You visited their home to tell them what to do and how to do it? If the children were rude and being destructive is one thing, but they were training for a sporting event!"

Another put: "This is embarrassing. Some people forget that they are a guest in the country and their stay can be shortened at any time. Please carry yourself like an adult."

A third viewer said: "I'm so infuriated, I have no words. I just can't stand this entitled privileged nonsense. Just stop it now."
