Last minute half term adventures plus bargain flights to Singapore

October half term is here, but are you worried you’re going to run out of activites?

Why not make a last minute trip to Carmarthenshire, Scotland for a mountain-biking adventure.

Or learn from football legend Robbie Keane at a beachside resort in Dubai.

Looking for a holiday that’s a bit more refined?

Singapore Airlines are offering very reasonable direct flights to South-east Asia from November 19 (and celebrating with a bottle of gin).

Thrills and spills

Mountain bikers will want to saddle up for a new holiday launching in Northern Carmarthenshire.

The MTB Trail Thrillogy is a self-guided two-day trip that brings together the lesser-known trails at Crychan Forest on the edge of the Brecon Beacons and Cwm Rhaeadr in the Cambrian Mountains, with the adrenaline-fuelled Brechfa.

Prepare for fast downhill runs and cross-country trails.

Football crazy

Former top footballers Michael Owen and Robbie Keane are returning to Dubai’s luxury family resort, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, for their highly anticipated Football Escapes kids’ camp.

Running from October 25 to 29, the camp will offer children aged five to 15 two hours of fun and learning daily, no matter their skill level. It’s a perfect opportunity for footie-mad kids to learn new techniques.

Two-day course from £253. Family rooms at Jumeirah Beach Hotel from £533pn,

Singapore Fling

Singapore Airlines will be recommencing its daily non-stop return service between London and Singapore from November 19 with the Airbus A380, and to celebrate it is offering some special fares.

You can head to Bangkok from £405 return, to Kuala Lumpur from £525 return, and to Singapore itself from £480.

Try a bottle of the airline’s own Connoisseur Dry Gin, launched in collaboration with Hayman’s for the 50th anniversary of Singapore Airlines flying from the UK (£35).
