A MAN was turned away from his flight after queueing for hours at Manchester Airport due to confusing new rules.
The passenger, who remains unnamed, said he was due to fly to Thailand from the UK via Dubai, arriving at Bangkok.
Due to the huge queues at airports around the UK, including Manchester Airport, he was forced to queue for two hours.
It was only when he arrived at the Emirates check-in desk that he was told he wouldn't be able to board his flight – as he was unvaccinated.
Thailand no longer requires Brits to have a negative Covid test to enter the country if they are vaccinated.
However, unvaccinated tourists will have to take an on-arrival ATK test, according to Thailand’s Centre for Covid-19 Administration (CCSA) and the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
But the UK has yet to update the guidelines.
The tourist told local media: "I thought I could fly to Thailand and take an ATK test upon arrival.
"But after queuing for 2 hours at Manchester Airport, the Emirates check-in staff told me 'there is no way you’re getting on this flight.'
"They turned me away [and] told me to rebook my flight, stay in a hotel, and take a test the next day if I wanted to travel to Thailand.”

The UK government website currently states: "From 1 July, you are no longer required to apply for permission to enter Thailand.
"You still need to show proof of either a vaccine certificate or negative COVID-19 test results.
"Vaccine certificate or pro-ATK/RT-PCR results (within 72 hours) will be checked by airline staff at check-in and once again when you arrive in Thailand."
Unvaxxed Brits heading to Thailand should take a negative Covid testbefore travelling to avoid being caught out at the airport.
