On Boxing Day, more than 60 flights were cancelled at Heathrow, including both short and long haul journeys, according to The Telegraph.

Uncertainty around border restrictions and entry requirements has already prompted some airlines to cancel upcoming flights.

Ryanair has slashed a third of its flights in January, as well as all flights to and from Morocco until February.
