Mum reveals clever holiday hack to help kids stay sand free at the beach | The Sun

A MUM has revealed her clever holiday hack for keeping her kids sand free at the beach.

A day out at the seaside is always fun, but picking sand out of your kids' clothes afterwards can be a nightmare.

That's why one mum always takes an old fitted sheet with her every time she takes her kids to see the sea.

She lays the sheet down and then, using heavy objects like backpacks, she folds the sides up to create a makeshift play pen.

It allows her youngster to sit on the beach and enjoy the soft sandy ground, without getting coated in the stuff when it's time to go.

The mum, who shares videos on Tiktok as @oioi_global showed her followers how they can do the same thing.

In a video that's since been seen more than 22,000 times, she said: "How to create a sand free play area using a fitted sheet.

"After laying an old fitted sheet down, simply secure each corner with something heavy like a bag.

"Adjust as needed. Ta-da!"

She isn't the only mum who has used a sheet like this before.

TikTok mum Amber-Lyn, who posts under @brosia_17, showed how she puts four squishy toy boxes in each corner of a bed sheet when making one of the play areas at home.

Many people hailed the budget idea as “genius” and said they wanted to try it with their kids – with another saying they also do it at the beach.

One said: “honestly what a great idea.”

Another added: “This is SO smart!”

A third wrote: “I do this at the beach, so no sand.”

For those who don't want to take a sheet with them to the seaside, entrepreneur Stephanie Kelsey has come up with a clever product that means beach-goers no longer need to worry about bringing sand home.

Beach Powder is a sand-removing substance made from a mixture of plant and mineral powders that removes sand instantly.

What's more, Beach Powder doesn't use talcum powder, which used to be the go-to method for removing sand after a day at the seaside.

Talc has been increasingly linked with several illnesses, including some cancers and reports suggest manufacturers Johnson & Johnson will end global sales of baby powder containing talc this year.

However, the natural ingredients used to make Beach Powder ensure that it is perfectly safe for human skin.
