New Drayton Manor thrill ride goes viral – as fans can't get their head around mindboggling twists

THEME park fanatics have been left confused by a new ride at Drayton Manor.

The Staffordshire based theme park has given guests a glimpse of several new attractions that will open later this year as part of its Viking themed expansion, including thrill-ride Loki – which left fans perplexed with its mechanical arms appearing to cross paths from all directions.

Named after the legendary God of Mischief, Loki will be the UK's first Zamperla Nebulaz – a type of family thrill ride with eight gondolas and four arms rotating in a fast-intermeshing orbit.

The highly-anticipated ride will send thrill-seekers soaring to new heights, with the official Drayton Manor website promising the ride will offer "a truly hypnotic experience from both the sky and ground."

A viral clip of the ride in action has already amassed over 1.1million views after it was uploaded to Drayton Manor's social accounts last week.

Some viewers speculated that the clip could be an April Fool's Day joke, while others made comparisons to a fairground ride seen in 2002 action movie, Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams.

The clip sparked confusion among theme park fanatics as it showed Loki's mechanical arms seemingly overlapping at high speed.

One TikTok user commented: "This is bringing me to tears, I don't understand."

Another put: "I've watched this about 200 times and I'm still no closer to understanding how this works."

A third theme park fan said: "Even my glasses need glasses after watching this."
