New iPhone update means you’ll never be locked out of hotel your room again

WE all know that feeling when you get to your hotel room door only to realise you've forgotten your key.

But that problem could be a thing of the past, as a new iPhone addition means you will never be locked out of your room again.

Apple has partnered up with hotel chain Hyatt to create digital keys that can be stored in your Apple Wallet.

You simply hold your iPhone or Apple Watch up to the key pad on your room door, and it will open.

Users must download the hotel's app to gain access to their hotel room key.

Once the key is downloaded, it will be in your Apple Wallet, so you won't need to open the app to use it and you won't need access to the internet.

The key will activate as soon as your room is ready for check-in, and it will stay activated during your stay.

If you switch rooms your key will update automatically, and then it will deactivate once you've checked out.
