Passenger gets revenge on woman for putting down the armrest on a flight – but it's really divided opinion | The Sun

A WOMAN has shared how the passenger sitting next to her on the plane got revenge after she lowered the armrest.

The traveller claimed that the passenger made her flight a misery after she pulled down the armrest but the argument has divided opinions.

Taking it to Reddit, the woman shared her ordeal looking for some sympathy but not everyone sided with her.

She wrote: "Flew yesterday and ended up with some young adult male in the middle seat (I was aisle).

"Dude got to my row, pointed at the middle seat, and then just stood there. I told him he needed to move out of my way so I could get up.

"He scooted in, raised the arm rest between his seat and mine, and plopped down.

"I sat down and lowered the arm rest. He glared. I guess the arm rest was constraining his body? Too bad. I paid for an entire seat."

The woman claims that that's when things started turning sour, as the male passenger proceeded to claim the extra space with his body.

"He then pulled a book from his backpack, reclined his seat… and spread his knees.

"I asserted my seat space but he pushed my left leg over, and put his foot under the seat in front of me.

"I said 'excuse me – this is my foot/underseat bag space' (I had my smaller duffel under that seat) and he seemed surprised.

"He did move his foot but kept his knees spread to max. My left leg suddenly became strong and anchored in-line with the left side of my seat and I forced him to at least stop man-spreading into me or my space."

The woman ended her post clarifying: "I’m female, btw, and easily fit into a regular airline seat without encroaching on others.

"I keep my knees and elbows to myself."

A number of Redditors were quick to agree with her and share their own experiences from uncomfortable flights.

One said: "I once had to ask someone to stop touching me because he was like halfway in my seat whilst I clung to the wall trying to escape a strangers arm and leg.

"I finally got fed up and he acted so shocked I would have such a request."

Another one added: "My wife told me this happens all the time when she flys alone for work. Guys are douchebags."

But not everyone had the same opinion, with some arguing the woman overreacted and branding her "Karen."

Someone wrote: "You know you live in a truly great country when people complain about a guy's natural posture on a multi-million dollar jet, lol.

"Wait until she finds out that she'll have to pay for her Pinot grigio! Oh, the horror!"

One said: "I hope you enjoyed the flight, Karen."

Meanwhile, another passenger was shamed for their "disgusting "behaviour"while sleeping on a flight.
