Passenger is filmed pushing past others as everyone waits to get off a plane – but people are divided | The Sun

A PASSENGER has divided opinion after they were filmed shoving their way past other people on a plane, so they could get off first.

The etiquette around standing up once the plane lands is a hot topic, with some people insisting those who stand up are "the worst".

One such person was filmed impatiently barging his way through people trying to get their bags down from the overhead lockers in a bid to be the first off the plane.

In a video shared to Tiktok by user @mabellitalinda, the man is seen talking to other passengers, who are standing in front of him in the aisle.

He tells them: "I make the rules as I go" before adding: "guess what, I'm breaking them right now too."

The man then shoves his way past the two women, both of whom look shocked.

The women describe the man as "hostile" as he starts pushing his way through, but he protests, saying "You were standing in the way like a body guard. I moved you out of the way is what I did."

The video has been widely re-shared online by several people, a lot of whom had different opinions on the situation.

There were those who felt he was in the wrong for trying to get through the aisle before other people.

One said: "No, dude, you don’t make rules as you go."

Another argued: "It’s crazy to me how he acted like this, and he’s just being a complete d******* to everyone for no reason."

However, there were those who felt he was in the right, saying the women should have moved aside and let him through.

One wrote: "They are rude women!

"They could’ve politely slid to the side for passengers who were ready to exit! Some people stand up for themselves."

Another said: "He asked POLITELY to be let through! They were rude to him just for asking."

One person who is not a fan of it the behaviour is fitness star and frequent flyer Stephanie Miller, who described the act as the “absolute worst”.

The subject came up when she was discussing plane etiquette on podcast Kicpod, which she hosts with fellow model Laura Henshaw.

She said: “There is one thing that people do on the aeroplane that is the absolute worst.

“I’m sorry but if you stand up and you realise everyone else is just standing there and the lines are going nowhere for 15 minutes, sit back down.”
