Popular holiday destination scraps ALL Covid restrictions in boost for Brits | The Sun

EGYPT has scrapped all Covid rules for holidaymakers heading to the country.

Brits previously needed to be fully vaccinated or take a Covid test 72 hours before travelling.

However, Egyptian prime minister Moustafa Madbouly confirmed last week that all of the Covid restrictions were being lifted, according to local media.

The UK Foreign Office is yet to update the current travel rules.

It is great news for Brits heading to Egypt, which is popular for package holidays.

It's not so great for easyJet passengers – the airline has cancelled all flights to Hurghada until the end of next month.

EasyJet said the reason behind the cancellation – which will affect summer holidays – was due to "industry-wide issues".

An easyJet spokesperson said: “There are industry-wide operational issues that are impacting airlines at the moment, which means we have made a number of pre-emptive cancellations.

"This includes all flights to Hurghada from the UK for the remainder of June and July. We are very sorry for the inconvenience this will cause."

They said that any passengers affected will be contacted by the airline.
