A SEASIDE spot in Wales promises to be an alternative to the popular tourist town of Newquay in the south of England.
Finding a beach with miles of untouched sand during the school holidays might sound impossible, but plenty of places actually do exist.
One of those includes the seaside town of New Quay in Ceredigion in Wales.
Josh Williams, a travel expert from Dog Friendly Retreats, has encouraged holidaymakers to swap Newquay in Cornwall for New Quay in Wales.
In a press release, he said: "Forget overcrowded Newquay, if you’re looking for a dog-friendly seaside holiday visit New Quay instead."
Set in west Wales, New Quay has been described as a "coastal gem" by holidaymakers who've praised the seaside town on TikTok.

The Welsh town is home to several beaches including Harbour Beach, which is set in New Quay's Harbour.
It's home to stretches of golden sand and is regarded as a safe swimming spot too.
The small beach is well-maintained and even has an on-duty lifeguard.
There's also a cafe on the beach and toilets that are available to the public too.
Harbour Beach is also home to exciting wildlife like seals, dolphins, and other marine life.
Dolphin watching tours depart from the harbour in the town, with tickets starting from £15.
Holidaymakers can also charter boats to go crab hunting and fishing in the bay.
There are also several other beaches nearby including Dolau Beach and Cei Bach Beach.
Other tourist activities include a visit to Llanerchaeron – a stately home where holidaymakers can explore the grounds and gardens.
There are several places to eat in New Quay too including The Old Watch House, which serves a range of Welsh delicacies from £6.
For something a little bit more up-market, there's also The Bluebell Deli & Bistro that serves dishes like pizzas and burgers for £12.
Visitors to the area have a range of options for places to stay, suiting most budgets.
Two nights in the Arosfa Harbourside Guesthouse, just mere metres from the sea costs £75 per person per night.
Meanwhile, nearby tent pitches start from £16 per night per pitch.
With holiday costs rising, with flights particularly affected, staycations are becoming a popular option for UK residents.
