IT'S time to find your sea legs and grab your Mickey ears, as a Disney Magic at Sea mini cruise is ship-shaping up to be the must-do trip of 2021.
For the first time ever, for this summer only, and exclusively for UK residents, holiday-hungry Brits can jump on board a Disney staycation – without leaving the country.
Departing on select dates from Southampton, Newcastle, Liverpool and London Tilbury, Disney Magic at Sea is an all-new concept offering a unique opportunity to take a non-stop two, three or limited four-night voyage from the UK. As there are limited spaces, you’ll need to book early to snag a stateroom and join the fun but it’s worth the rush – you’ll discover a whole new world on board and create incredible memories to last a lifetime. There really is something for everyone.
Disney on deck
For the perfect family break, Disney Magic at Sea offers something new to do every day. Want to make a splash? Try the three-storey vertical drop slide AquaDunk, or head for Goofy’s Pool, with waves and whirlpool spas – it’s the perfect place for parents and kids to take a dip together.
You can enjoy classic Disney movies in a state-of-the-art cinema and discover real-life magic when you spend time with beloved Disney Characters on board, as Disney stories come alive right before your eyes. Snap photos of Captain Mickey, behold a royal promenade with Disney Princesses and greet Toy Story friends, including Woody and Jessie, as Characters pop up for surprise appearances throughout your voyage.
For one morning of every cruise, guests are whisked away to the world of Marvel entertainment. Prepare to assemble with some of Marvel’s mightiest, including Iron Man, Spider-Man and Black Panther. By night, head to the deck and Freeze the Night Away dancing to your favourite Frozen songs. You’ll also see Elsa’s powerful ice magic in a stunning on-deck show.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner and 24-hour room service are all included in the cruise price. The Disney Magic has four impressive restaurants, each with a different lavish theme and interactive storytelling. For example, at Animator’s Palate, you can celebrate the magic of Disney animation with a unique dinner show featuring colourful Characters, while at Rapunzel’s Royal Table, Flynn Rider and Princess Rapunzel herself may even drop in for a visit.
For some of the exciting activities on board, guests must register in advance. This includes the onboard musical Disney Dreams – An Enchanted Classic, the live stage show that features songs from some all-time Disney classics. If you’ve missed live performances, this is a unique chance to enjoy a West End-quality production that will delight the whole family.
Kids in Cruise control
There are great activities for children on board, with care provided by trained Disney counsellors. Advance registration is required but once inside you’ll discover Character experiences and themed play areas tailored to different ages. Disney’s Oceaneer Club welcomes youngsters aged between 3 and 12 to enjoy immersive storytelling and larger-than-life playgrounds.
They will love exploring Andy’s Room, where Disney Pixar’s Toy Story comes alive, and Marvel Super Hero Academy, the top-secret command post of S.H.I.E.L.D. The enchanting Pixie Hollow is a fanciful forest setting, where young Disney fans can dress up, create craft projects and listen to stories.
There are also two designated areas for tweens and teens. Edge is a hip hangout for kids aged 11 to 14, while Vibe is a cool area that’s designed for older teens to chill out, listen to music, watch TV and play games.
Health and safety is a top priority
Disney Magic at Sea has developed multiple layers of health and safety measures, developed in consideration of guidance from the UK government, health authorities and medical experts.
