Spain holiday warning as Brits face paying €60 in tourist scam

BRITS heading on holiday to Spain have been warned of a new tourist scam which could see you out of pocket.

Currently, vaccinated Brits don't need to have any Covid tests to enter Spain, and only need to show proof they have had both jabs.

However, all arrivals need to fill in a Formulario de Control Sanitario (FCS) or Health Control Form before arriving, similar to the UK's Passenger Locator Form.

These are free for everyone to fill in before they enter Spain, with the QR code needed at airport security.

Information needed includes an email address, flight details, passport details, Covid documents and address in Spain of the hotel or resort.

However, a number of websites are charging tourists a "service fee" to help them fill them out, according to i News, with some asking for as much as €60.

This means families could be left out of pocket to fill out the easy forms which are provided free from the Spanish government.

The free passenger form website is spth.gob.es, so Brits should use this one to avoid any unnecessary holiday costs.

Brits were given a welcome boost for Spanish holidays after the country dropped the requirement for all teenagers to be vaccinated.

To be considered fully vaccinated, arrivals must have had their second dose within the last nine months, or have had their booster jab.

And the Costa del Sol has scrapped Covid passports for tourists, meaning Brits no longer need to show they are vaccinated to enter bars and cafes.

The UK has also lifted most of the travel restrictions for vaccinated travellers, who now only need to fill in a Passenger Locator Form to enter the country.

Both the pre-arrival and the day two tests have been scrapped for travellers who have had both jabs.
