The 3 common mistakes tourists are making in Italy – and they could leave you facing huge fines | The Sun

TOURISTS heading to oneof Italy's most famous resorts have been warned that they could be hit with big fines if they break little known rules.

Lake Garda near the beautiful city of Verona is one of Italy's top attractions pulling in millions of visitors each year.

But now tourists heading to the resort famous for its dreamy castles and pretty villages have been warned that things deemed as fun back home could land them with a chunky fine, reports Forbes.

Anyone visiting Sirmione town centre famous for its flowers and thermal water should be aware that cars and bikes are banned from the town centre.

Only locals and hotel guests are allowed to use to drive or cycle.

And tourists heading out to Lake Garda's beaches could face a massive fine if they play football or swim naked in the water.

Skinny dipping, football and other ball sports are strictly prohibited. Transgressors face fines up to £513.

Many tourists like to hang out their swimsuits to dry on the balcony of their hotel or apartment.

However the authorities in the old town of Limone have clamped down on the practice and will punish offenders with fines.

And the charming towns of Malcesine and Peschiera del Garda have a strict dress code.
