The £8.99 item that will change the way you sleep on long haul flights | The Sun

IF you struggle to sleep on long-haul flights, then an £8.99 item is going to change that, according to travellers.

Katie Hammel, content marketing director at Scott’s Cheap Flights, revealed the clever trick to making the seats comfier to sleep in during a flight.

The method? A foot hammock that you tie underneath the seat in front of you.

She told Conde Nast Traveller: "It just makes the ride so much more comfortable as it allows you to have your legs in a wider variety of positions."

She said she was initially worried that it may annoy other travellers when she started using it.

However, after using it on more than 20 flights, she said she had "never had complaints" from anyone.

The way it works is by attaching it underneath the seat in front, and then putting your feet in it, keeping them raised from the ground.

This makes it easier to sleep as it puts your body in a better, more comfortable position.

You can buy it on Amazon for just £8.99, and fits in your hand luggage.

People praised it on Amazon as well, especially on long-haul flights.

One person said: "Used this on a flight to Mexico and for the first time ever I didn't have restless or achy legs.

"It did slip down a little once I first set it up but it will definitely be in my hand luggage every time now."

Another person said: "I used this flying back to Toronto from the UAE, 15 hr flight, in February. I was in the middle seat in economy, and this made the flight tolerable.

"The little bit of elevation it gives you helps to take pressure off the back of your legs and lower back.

"It also allows you to sleep sideways with your knees up on your seat and your feet resting on this platform."
